The Site is situated on the south western boundary of Ongar, between Greensted Road and Fairfield Road and opposite Chipping Ongar primary school. The Site is undeveloped and extends to approximately 3.5 hectares (8.5 acres) and currently comprises open grass land that is bounded by mature trees and hedgerows. The proposed development is designed to take a new access off Greensted Road to the south of the site.
