Location
Cumbernauld is a new town in North Lanarkshire created in 1956 as a population overflow for Glasgow. It is situated approximately 11 miles north east of Glasgow, 15 miles to the south of Stirling and approximately 40 miles west of Edinburgh.
The town is located on the M80 between Glasgow and Stirling and affords excellent road communication links. The main route through the town is the former A80 trunk road which has recently been upgraded to motorway status.
Westfield is the most modern and best located industrial estate in Cumbernauld.The proposed development is located on Orchardton Road at the northern periphery of the estate, approximately 2.5 miles south west of Cumbernauld town centre. The Estate is located adjacent to Junction 3 of the M73 motorway where it converges with the recently upgraded M80 (Mollinsburn Interchange) which in turn leads to the M8 and M9 motorways.
